Sydney’s Summer Fruit Salad

Sydney’s Summer Fruit Salad

Perfect for picnics or lounging poolside, this easy-to-prepare recipe is my favorite sweet treat.

It’s officially sunshine season, which means keeping cool is a top priority. Whether you’re entertaining guests, or lounging poolside, it’s essential that you have a healthy snack on hand that also keeps you hydrated. Enter the fruit salad, my favorite summer sweet treat.

While you’re more than welcome to customize your salad with any of your favorite fruits, I like to call on the seasonal crowd favorites: berries, pineapple and grapes. I highly recommend getting creative with your presentation – you can find my favorite cutters here! – but otherwise I can guarantee this salad will be a crowd favorite.

Salad ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 2 cups sliced pineapple
  • 1 cup seedless grapes
  • 1 cup melon of choice
  • 1 cup berry of choice

OPTIONAL: Sauce ingredients

  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup packed monk fruit sugar
  • 1 tbsp grated orange zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step 1

Assemble your fruits! Wash, hull and slice to your preference. I recommend smaller pineapple chunks so they don’t overwhelm the salad. Set aside.

Step 2

If you feel like you need a little something extra to take your salad to the next level, you can make the sauce. Bring all fruit ingredients to boil with the monk fruit sugar (or any sugar replacement), then simmer on low heat until it thickens. Remove from the stove and stir in vanilla.

Step 3

It’s time to soak, baby! Pour the sauce over your salad and toss. Refrigerate for several hours so the fruit has time to marinate.

Step 4

Serve!
